Dolce Musica, A Contemplative Journey, and Reflections are sample collections of the music that Healing Muses offers. Click on the links to the right to hear some selections from these CDs.

The music is based on the repertoire played in hospitals — much of which has been specially arranged by Healing Muses. The purpose is to provide simple, beautiful, modal music that soothes and uplifts, which the listener can receive almost as a sedative. Not overburdened with technique and complexity, this healing music is about melody, fluid rhythm, and beautiful sound. Selections include lullabies, Celtic tunes, Renaissance dances and medieval chants. The tempo starts upbeat, gradually slows down, taking the listener into a state of deep relaxation, then picks up again at the end of the CD.

These recordings are available to hospitals, patients, caretakers, bodyworkers, teachers, or anyone who wants to experience the healing power of music.

Heart's Ease: Music to Uplift the Spirit and Chase Away Pain, Discomfort and Stress is a book compiled of music from many genres – cross-cultural, traditional as well as European medieval, Renaissance and baroque pieces arranged for small ensemble.

Playable for medical facilities and senior centers or for personal pleasure, the collection has been carefully crafted and put together. Most of the pieces are organized in similar keys or modes so that ensembles can play them as long sets.

The focus is on beautiful melodies, simple harmonies and straight-forward rhythms. The purpose of this music is to relax mind and body; it is comforting, easy on the ear, and restful for the brain.

For alto/tenor recorder, flute or violin for the treble parts, cello/viola da gamba for the bass line, and harp/guitar for chordal instruments.
